Add service instead of cutting it.
Ugo is designed for the buses you already run. It starts on one route and grows only as the evidence does.
Known route. Repeatable operations.
Keep the fleet you own
Ugo is retrofitted onto buses in service today. The vehicles and the depot stay the same.
Build on each route
Each route is mapped and validated before service. What we learn on one vehicle model and one route carries over to the next.
Answer the driver shortage
More hours of service, without needing another driver for every additional hour.
Robotaxi versus bus route
Robotaxi
- Arbitrary origin
- Arbitrary destination
- Open geography
Public transit
- Known routes
- Defined geography
- Repeatable operations
- Professional fleets
How a first route comes together
Route study
We model the route from timetable and map data and simulate it before anything is installed.
Vehicle qualification
One vehicle model is assessed and qualified for the retrofit.
Supervised pilot
A retrofitted bus runs the route with a safety driver, collecting evidence.
Service
Autonomous operation on that route, extended as evidence and approvals allow.
What makes a good first route
- The route
Defined and repeatable, with known stops and a manageable mix of traffic.
- The buses
Newer low-floor vehicles with electronic braking and propulsion.
- The team
A depot and staff ready to run supervised testing.
- The city
A local authority open to a pilot on public roads.
